Buzzer, a New York-based streaming sports discovery application, has bagged US$ 20 million in a Series A funding round led by existing investor Sapphire Sport on 30 June 2021.

Investors: The investment round featured Sapphire Sport as the lead investor and Canaan Partners as a new investor. The round also included investments from tennis star Naomi Osaka. The company is also backed by Imagination Capital, R&R Ventures and many other investors.

Purpose of the funding: Buzzer seeks to deploy the funds raised from the recent investment round towards social feature development, forming partnerships and recruiting fresh talent. The company has raised a total of US$ 24 million to date.
