California’s BERLIN, SUNNYVALE, Aug. 17, 2023  — Berlin-based startup Mercanis announces the completion of its most recent USD 10 million initial round of fundraising—institutional funds like Singals.VC, DI Technology, and Speedinvest took the lead in the round. Victor Jacobsson (Klarna), Mirko Novakovic (Instana), and Dr. Ulrich Piepel (Klarna) were among the notable angel investors and successful business people who contributed significantly. Mercanis distinguishes itself from rivals with its user-friendly procurement and supplier management capabilities. These products use the cost-savings of networking and automated procedures to reduce costs by more than 40%.

CEO and Co-Founder of Mercanis Fabian Heinrich said: “We are incredibly appreciative of the faith shown in us throughout this fundraising round. It emphasizes how crucial innovative procurement software is in the current economic environment. Mercanis doesn’t merely promote growth in these difficult times of inflation and recession. Our solution protects our clients against hazards while delivering cost and time efficiencies.

In the year 2020, Fabian Heinrich and Moritz Weiermann established Mercanis. The startup aims to transform how organizations decide what to buy and connect with service providers by utilizing data insights and artificial intelligence. Mercanis intends to use the cash for the main sectors to stimulate growth and innovation after the successful seed funding round. The main emphasis will be on product development, including further utilizing AI’s capabilities in the Mercanis procurement suite. The software already uses large language models (LLMs) for contract analysis and autonomous sourcing. A portion of the cash will be used to enhance Go-to-Market initiatives and product innovation, share more success stories, and grow the client base.

General Partner of signals.vc, Dr. Daniel Kirchleitner, confirmed:

“There is no other software platform trying to solve this problem as they do, given the macro issues and the front and center position procurement is intended to assume today. Mercanis provides its customers with a distinctive compounding product value through the integration of process automation, predictive analytics, and AI, and perhaps more importantly, through its suite strategy.

Mercanis, founded in 2020 by Fabian Heinrich and Moritz Weiermann, has quickly established itself as a top sourcing and supplier management software provider. The business offers a wide range of prestigious clients, such as Linde, Wilson, Frutiger, and Hypoport, the benefit of their knowledge. By providing a wide range of tools with an emphasis on four primary areas—Spend Analytics, Sourcing & Request Events (RFx), Supplier Management (SRM), and Contract Management—, Mercanis seeks to transform procurement. Through network effects and automation, this distinct strategy places Mercanis at the forefront of digital procurement, enabling businesses to realize considerable cost reductions.
