Services like Midjourney and ChatGPT have pushed the limits of what artificial intelligence (AI) can do with simple text commands to produce visuals and text. Audio now seems to be the inescapable next step. The creation of music using word prompts, AI language tutors, and voice simulators have all advanced recently. With technology that enables users to change (and mask) their voices in real time, Voice.ai intends to contribute to that dialogue (hehe). Following its early success, the company has recently raised its first outside investment.

voice.ai, which has more than 480,000 users and a library of more than 50,000 speech filters, has received USD 6 million in funding. With this money, the company wants to expand the usage of its voice-changing technology.

M13 and Mucker Capital are now in the lead. Before now, Voice.ai expanded through word of mouth and USD 3 million in self-funding; the firm has a Discord channel with over 120,000 subscribers.

The company’s tools are currently being used by gamers, content producers, Vloggers, and others on platforms like TikTok, Zoom, Discord, Minecraft, GTA 5, Fortnite, Valorant, League of Legends, Among Us, Skype, and WhatsApp. These tools are available as Mac, PC, Android, and iOS apps. They can create a new voice using the Voice.ai interface or choose from 50,000 pre-made voices (produced and shared by people just like them), which can be used as-is or modified for live use on platforms that enable it and for recordings.

According to Omar Hamoui, a lead investor Mucker Capital partner, “Voice.ai is poised to revolutionize the AI developer community in a way similar to AdMob’s impact on the mobile app developer community.” (Hamoui has some direct experience with mobile developer tools; he previously created the mobile ad business AdMob, which Google subsequently acquired.) Voice.ai seeks to democratize access for developers worldwide by providing simple solutions that were once only available to big companies.
