New Delhi-based peer-to-peer (P2P) rural commerce startup Rozana raised USD 2.5 million in pre-Series A funding. The round took place on April 7, 2022. 3one4 Capital and Europe’s IEG – Investment Banking Group co-led the funding round for Rozana.

Meanwhile, the round also saw participation from Manisha Girotra, CEO of Moelis and Board Member, Prosus (formerly Naspers), and SK Jain, Co-Founder of Sequoia & Westbridge Capital.

Purpose of Funding for Rozana

Rozana plans to strengthen the platform’s technological capabilities with the latest capital. It wants to further expand its presence in targeted geographies across the country, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.

Rozana is a rural peer-to-peer commerce platform that connects sellers and buyers of products or services. The platform brings rural India into the fold of e-commerce.

Adwait Vikram Singh, Ankur Dahiya, Mukesh Christopher, and Prithvi Pal Singh brought Rozana into existence in 202. The startup focuses on peer commerce by looking at building exclusive partnerships with peers that gain community support.

Rozana’s platform enables micro-entrepreneurs to provide their end-users with broader, innovative, and competitive offerings. The entrepreneurs use the platform to onboard customers, share the latest deals and help them place online orders, making last-mile delivery efficient.

The startup adopted a village-by-village strategy to drive product innovation and optimize demand and supply for direct-to-customer (D2C) brands.

It has offices in many places such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Bangalore, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, New Delhi, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad.

Within nine months, the rural commerce startup penetrated over four lakh households. It is further looking at the steady growth in the future.
