Brought to existence in 2021 by brothers Saad and Faisal Zahid, Zarya allows small sellers to obtain various products, including clothing for children and women, with the help of its platform and sell these products in their network. The startup meticulously handles the complete process, including payments, delivery and sourcing of products and transfers every seller’s profit after the sale is complete. Presently, Zarya provides more than 3,000 products on its platform and envisages adding more offerings by bringing additional categories like shoes, abayas, makeup and home textiles. A majority of Zarya’s users are housewives who look for opportunities to make a profit. The startup attempts to eradicate small-scale sellers’ challenges while arranging the delivery, collecting payments, and sourcing products.

What the Founder has to say: “Pakistan has more than 45 million Facebook users and 100 million YouTube users. The social media users in Pakistan spend over 3 hours daily on social media applications. If much time is spent online, it’s instinctive to sell and buy using social media apps. We plan to offer opportunities to our sellers to thrive in a competitive environment.”- Faisal Zahid, Co-Founder of Zarya.

What the Investor has to say: “We see the social commerce domain experiencing exponential growth in the MENAP region. Resembling markets like China, India and LATAM are portraying early signs of its capability. Zarya’s early product value and commercial traction in Pakistan showcase its potential to offer independent sellers the experience. We are exhilarated to join hands with Zarya to support them in their growth journey.”- Wael Nafee, Principal at Raed Ventures.
