The Entrepreneurial Cell at IIT Kharagpur, has partnered with GoToPitch this year to launch its Global Business Model Competition – Empresario 2022, anticipating startups to participate in huge numbers and encourage enterprising innovation ideas through the event.
Event Profile – Empresario
Empresario 2021-22 intends to provide a platform for students and young entrepreneurs to access exceptional opportunities and exposure to get their hands on excellent professional mentorship from its experienced, varied and unique mentor pool like TiE, NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network) and others.
The startups, thus, will get a chance to showcase their ideas before venture capitalists, angel investors, and industry experts with specialised tracks for products and services through the event. Startup Services amidst the event like legal advice, taxation, financial, technical aspects of running a startup, co-working space, HR needs, incubation opportunities would also be provided.
The entrepreneurs putting forward their candidature for this much-awaited event will get a chance to win a total prize worth INR 50 Lakhs (nearly US$ 68k) and an opportunity to compete with startups globally through their business model competitions like BMCG.
The executive head of competitions at The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur, Vaishnav Lembhe, mentions, “The participants of Empresario get a unique opportunity to present their ideas and get a chance to win a multitude of prizes. This year, due to COVID-19, we will be conducting the competition online, and we have made all the preparations for the same.”
About the round: To register themselves, the participants would be required to fill up a brief questionnaire addressing and talking with regard to the Business Idea that the candidate aspires to pitch, and submit it on www.ecell-iitkgp.org/empresario.
The deadline for registration is 20th November 2021. After the registration is completed, the potential candidates will get 1.5 months of mentoring before submitting their Business Models.
