Lisbon-based food delivery startup Kitch raised USD 4 million in a Seed Round led by Atlantic Food Labs, as announced on May 11, 2021.

The other participants in the round were Market One Capital and the initial investors of the company, Seedcamp, and Lisbon-based Mustard Seed MAZE. The startup aims to use the funds raised to help the restaurants take control of the delivery app mess, by aggregating the apps onto one tablet and platform. Through this, Restaurants will get one place to control the delivery orders,  track couriers, and update their menus across all the delivery apps.

About Kitch

Launched in March 2020, with its headquarters at Lisbon, and with Rui Bento as the CEO, Kitch is engaged in developing its own technology which helps the independent restaurants as it says,” Independent Restaurants. They are worth fighting for”.  The tagline of the company says “Take Back Control of your Digital Orders, Connect All Your Delivery Orders in one Place”. The company believes in Simplicity, Reach, Automation, Control, Independence, and Efficiency in its operations.

For Lisbon’s restaurants and cafés, the focus is on creating food for a different type of consumption. Since only takeaway and delivery are currently allowed, many are developing special dishes or menus that are better suited to travel.

With this app, restaurants can create their online store, thus allowing them to sell their dishes both on delivery and takeaway and can have a relationship with the customers. Kitsch interfaces with apps like Uber Eats, Glovo, and Deliveroo, and the startup is responsible for payments, deliveries, and customer support.

What does the CEO say?

“We are committed to making available and to keep developing the tools that enable restaurants to retain their independence and to regain control of their digital businesses”, said Rui Bento, CEO, and founder of Kitch.

What do the investors say?

Patrick Huber, Partner at Atlantic Food Labs said: “Kitch has shown remarkable traction within a very short time, in a market that continues to grow rapidly.”

What do the others say?

According to Rui Oliveria, Managing Director at Nomada, “Kitch allows us to cover a wider area of the city, getting the Noamda experience to even more people”.
