About Zencastr

zencastr

Founded in 2015 by tech entrepreneur Josh Nielsen and Adrian Lopez, Zencastr makes it easier for podcasters to record their guests in studio quality directly from their web browser. Zencastr is different from Zoom, Google Meet etc, as it records each participant’s voice on their local computer in superior quality. The audio is recorded without any VoIP compression, artefacts or dropouts. Zencastr allows creators and guests with no background in production to make studio-quality content without any hassle.

The latest open beta version of Zencastr has many features like Built-in VoIP, Chat, HD Video Recording, Studio-Quality Sound and Footnotes, Live Soundboard Editing, Automatic Post Production and Secured Cloud Backup. With a growing interest in podcasting, Zencastr’s user base has expanded as well. The company claims to have experienced a 147% growth in podcasting hours since the beginning of COVID-19.

What the Founders have to say: “As a listener, the intimacy you feel as you get to know a podcaster is one of the greatest forms of connection in media today. We see podcasting as a medium for fostering understanding and discourse and we want to remove all barriers preventing listeners and creators from connecting through podcasts.” — Co-Founder and CPO Adrian Lopez.

“We are overjoyed to launch our video podcasting tool out of private beta. Thank you to the 40k users who patiently waited and then tested in private beta, our team for their brilliant work commitment to delivering this first in class product. At a time when the world feels as far apart as ever, we’re working to bridge that divide.” — Co-Founder and CEO, Josh Nielsen.
