Textel Raises $4M in Series A funding

Textel, a US-based cloud-based texting platform for contact centers, completed a $4M Series A funding round held in October 2020. Cultivation Capital led the round with participation from Stout Street Capital and Capital Midwest Fund III.

Textel’s total funds have increased to $5M after this round. Textel will use the investment to accelerate its plans to boost additional partner sales and marketing. It also plans to build additional product functionality in the future.

This investment comes at a crucial time for Textel as it is continuously gaining significant traction with customers in the enterprise contact center market by integration with popular Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) solutions like NICE inContact and Genesys. Textel doubled its employee headcount in last year. It is also looking to fill additional roles in the coming months of this year.

Paul Weber, Venture Partner at Cultivation Capital and member of Textel’s board of directors said, “Contact centers are clamouring for ways to reduce call volumes and increase agent efficiency. Textel’s texting platform not only provides a better channel for communication, it also provides additional tools to improve the customer experience. We’re impressed with the amazing work done by Textel in finding a simple yet highly impactful way to connect businesses to their customers.”

Textel works without any issues within the NICE inContact and Genesys environments by routing incoming text messages to an already available SMS-proficient agent which utilises their chat window and then text can be responded. Outbound texts on an ad hoc basis or using event-based triggers with the help of a team.

“Our latest round of funding will help us tremendously to reach our goal to deliver a feature-rich texting platform. Contact centers need it, their customers already expect it, and we’re prepared to get them there,” said James Diel, Founder and CEO, Textel.
