The Moms Co raises US$ 8M in Series B funding

New Delhi-based mom and infant care products startup The Moms Co has raised US$ 8M in a Series B funding round held in September 2020 from investors such as Saama Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, Brand guru Shripad Nadkarni and Ashutosh Valani and Priyank Shah (founders of Beardo).

The latest round brings the startup’s funding to a total of US$ 10M.

Proceeds from the funding round will be used to develop its product portfolio, enhance its tech capabilities and build offline stores across India in the next two years. The company is aiming US$ 13.5M (INR 100 Cr) in profits with this development.

The Moms Co was founded in 2016 by Malika Datt Sadani and Mohit Sadaani. It creates safe, natural, and toxin-free certified products for babies. It is working with a vision to help moms make harmless, natural, and effective choices for themselves and their families. Its products are developed and tested with the best specialists across India, Australia, and Switzerland. Currently, The Moms Co has a 30-product catalog focusing on pregnancy to postpartum and baby care bought by almost 1 million customers.

Present in five cities across India, the startup has tied up with more than 15 maternity hospitals. It has been growing spontaneously month-on-month at a consistent pace of 15% to 20% for the last 4 years.

CEO Malika Sadani was quoted to say, “Our focus is on the mom and her personal care needs. For instance, in our skincare range, we focused on pigmentation, and in our haircare range, we concentrated on hair fall – both are common postpartum occurrences.”

The startup had previously raised US$ 5M in Series B funding from DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital in 2019. In 2017, it had secured US$ 1M in Series A funding again from DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital.
