London-based vegan frozen meal home delivery service provider, Planty has raised €180K in its first funding round held in September 2020, led by Veg Capital.
Planty was launched in 2019 by Andrea Cavallo, Ali Sheehan-Dare and Joseph Lovell initially focusing on London as an experiment for its service. Subsequently, the startup achieved huge success and expanded to several other regions in the UK at the beginning of 2020.
The startup delivers chef-prepared, plant-based meals across the UK in a very convenient manner. Its meals are healthy and wholesome, made from sustainable ingredients with minimal packaging. Planty has become very popular among plant-based enthusiasts and has even turned out to be a huge hit with the media. It is planning to expand its range of meals along with some great partnerships.
Planty is entirely focused on vegan food. Users can select either 6, 8, or 10 vegan meals from a carefully curated menu. After choosing a delivery date, the meals are delivered to the address of choice and can be heated up in the oven or microwave for consumption.
The startup is promoting eco-friendly delivery options and various aspects of its working revolves around sustainability and social work. All packaging (boxes, insulation, trays, films, covers, wrappers) is completely recyclable, delivery is carbon neutral and surplus food is donated. Planty is also working towards gaining a B Corp certification (such companies work with an aim to achieve high standards of social and ecological performance).
