Thirty Madison raises US$ 47M in funding

New York-based healthcare startup Thirty Madison has raised US$ 47M in a new funding round held in August 2020, led by Polaris Partners and existing investors Maveron and Northzone. Johnson & Johnson Innovation- JJDC, Inc. also joined the funding round as a new investor.

Thirty Madison has raised a total of US$ 70M to date. Amy Schulman, a partner with Polaris Partners is joining the startup’s Board of Directors.

Steven Gutentag and Demetri Karagas founded the startup in 2017. In 2018, Thirty Madison launched a brand named Keeps that dealt with treating hair loss in men, further expanding to migraine treatments in 2019 with Cove and introducing its acid reflux treatment service called Evens in the latter part of 2019.

It has also very recently started an online doctor consultation service for users on a pay-what-you-can model (meaning those who cannot afford it can take the consultation for free and users in general can pay how much ever they want). This service was launched to help hospitals in keeping their emergency rooms and urgent care centers fixated towards helping COVID-19 patients while also keeping in mind the healthcare needs of the rest of the citizens.

The company also claims that they work differently from their so-called rivals because they continue providing care after one’s diagnosis and also offer a range of treatment options for the conditions they treat a user for. On top of that, their narrow focus on a few particular conditions, differentiate Thirty Madison from its competitors in the industry.

Amy Schulman was quoted to say, “Over 59% of Americans suffer from at least one chronic condition, but few resources exist to help them connect the dots of their care.”

With a human-first approach that provides care and support from diagnosis to treatment and monitoring the users, Thirty Madison strives to improve how millions of people manage their chronic conditions.
