Chicago, 18 May 2023 According to Sensor Tower, Hallow this week reached 10 million downloads and 225 million prayers prayed globally, making it the most popular prayer app on the planet. Following the app’s explosive growth, Hallow became the first religious app to ever break into the top 10 in the App Store on Ash Wednesday of 2023, ranking third overall and surpassing numerous other of the most extensive applications in the world, including Netflix, Spotify, Instagram, Amazon, Tiktok, YouTube, and many more. This past Lent, members of the Hallow community prayed over a million prayers daily, surpassing the 1 million prayers on the app in nearly two years, according to Hallow.

The app has also recently announced the closure of an additional $50 million in Series C fundraising, bringing the total funding raised for Hallow to USD 105 million, despite the challenging market for startup funding. The largest venture fund in the world focused solely on consumer technology, Goodwater Capital, led the round. The core purpose of Goodwater Capital, which two devout individuals established, is Micah 6:8: “to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.” Goodwater’s name derives from the words good news and living water, which reflects the company’s goal of enabling entrepreneurs to positively impact society. Highland Capital, Colin Moran, and several Hallow’s current investors are also investing in the round.

“In our effort to collaborate with the most influential consumer technology companies in the world, Hallow’s spiritually-based services have attained levels of consumer engagement and retention that have historically only been achieved by a select few businesses. More significantly, we’re grateful to help Hallow with its purpose. In my own life, I can attest that praying more with Hallow has profoundly improved it.

Additionally, Hallow has recently teamed up with several well-known celebrities and religious figures, including Mario Lopez, Mark Wahlberg, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Bishop Robert Barron, Sister Miriam James-Heidland, and actor Jonathan Roumie.

“My faith has always been a hugely significant part of my life, so when the chance to work with Hallow presented itself, I knew it was what I wanted to do. My family and I enjoy using the app to pray, and we’ve heard some amazing stories from individuals about how the app has improved their lives. Prayer is a powerful tool,” Mark Wahlberg stated.
