DELTA, 27 APRIL 2023 – A USD 14 million Series A fundraising round has been closed by DeepHow, an AI startup that transforms technical expertise into intelligent, how-to instruction films. A second new investor, LG Technology Ventures, joined the round led by Owl Ventures, a specialist in investing in educational technology. Participating in this round were existing investors Sierra Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Osage Venture Partners, and Foothill Ventures.

DeepHow intends to increase its efforts in product, engineering, and generative AI innovation, as well as go-to-market initiatives to speed up its company’s growth. DeepHow has already accelerated the production of significant product additions in response to customer demand that use the ability of generative AI to speed up the creation of SOP videos, multimodal workflow generation, AI chat support, and strategic knowledge mapping.

“Manufacturers face enormous pressure to increase productivity, cut costs, and satisfy rising customer demands. Industry 4.0, which uses cutting-edge technologies like AI, IoT, and automation to achieve operational excellence, is at the center of this transition, according to Dr. Sam Zheng, CEO and co-founder of DeepHow. “A deliberate approach to capturing, sharing, and transferring knowledge across teams and departments is required to realize the full potential of Industry 4.0, in addition to technology investment. This Series A round’s oversubscribed status proves that our investors believe in our mission. Additionally, it shows how confident they are in our capacity to strengthen our technical leadership and speed up our go-to-market activities.

Ian Chiu, managing director at Owl Ventures, stated that it has never been more crucial to gather the skills and expertise of senior, experienced personnel and then convey that knowledge through practical and engaging training during onboarding and reskilling initiatives. “DeepHow’s AI-powered training platform is being used by over 70 global customers, the majority of which are multinational enterprise companies, to streamline the capture and transfer of technical skills and know-how, reducing project time by ten times, increasing worker performance by 25%, and significantly lowering overall training and development costs. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Sam, Patrik, and the rest of the DeepHow team as they grow and strengthen their position as market leaders.

A group of researchers and engineers from Siemens who noticed an unmet need for knowledge transfer in the market for skilled workers created DeepHow in 2018. They made a video-based knowledge capture and learning platform powered by AI that closes the skills gap in the construction, service, and manufacturing sectors. DeepHow accelerates the acquisition and transfer of technical skills and know-how, shortening project timelines by ten times, increasing worker productivity by twenty-five percent, and significantly lowering overall training and development expenses.
