Financial Planning Software Platform Cube

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 17, 2023 – — Rive, a supplier of real-time animation software, announced a USD 10 million Series A round lead by Two Sigma Ventures.

This financing will help Rive’s cloud collaboration tool for producing animated images that can run anywhere get off the ground. This funding comes on the heels of a previously reported USD 4 million seed round spearheaded by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

As the lines between designer and coder blur, the traditional approach for bringing an animated image to life need substantial refining. Designers are increasingly using technology to produce 2D, static pictures that are then passed on to software programmers who build interactive elements for users. This causes unnecessary back-and-forth between the designer and the engineer at every stage of production, wasting time and money. Rive combines this critical collaboration into a single platform, allowing designers to build meaningful interactions (rather than just mockups or prototypes) and think like developers without having to write code. As a consequence, developers save time on design iterations and may deploy changes from Rive’s platform quickly.

“Developers and designers are too separated from one another, causing workflow inefficiencies. Our design tool bridges that cooperation gap and facilitates the creation of interactive content for goods, “Rive’s CEO and co-founder, Guido Rosso, stated. “By providing an end-to-end design, interaction, and animation pipeline, everything you make in Rive appears and performs precisely the way it will in your websites, applications, and games.”

The desire for contemporary design tools to be light, rapid, and cross-platform compatible has not been met by interactive graphics toolkits. Rive provides an all-in-one platform for designers and developers to communicate with new audiences, which is why Google, Philips, Samsung, WHOOP, Duolingo, Sonos, Atlassian, and others rely on Rive’s software to bring their ideas to life. Rive’s platform animations are more modest, use less memory, and run faster than any other design format now available.

“With Rive, designers can build highly spectacular animations much more rapidly, leading to improved experiences for end users,” stated Dan Abelon, partner at Two Sigma Ventures. We are happy to be a part of Rive’s mission to produce the software that designers require to create a more engaging and enjoyable experience on the web and beyond.”
