Chicago, the U.S.A-based provider of a comprehensive communications platform, Cision acquired Factmata. The company announced the acquisition on November 17, 2022. However, it did not disclose the amount of the purchase. 

Factmata Limited, launched in 2017, is a London, UK-based social and news media monitoring and analytics product leveraging AI.

Purpose of acquisition by Cision

With the recent acquisition of Factmata, Cision intends to expand its offering. The acquisition of Factmata marks Cision’s mission to empower communications and PR professionals with AI and narrative detection technology.

Cision is a portfolio company of Platinum Equity. The latter acquired the former earlier in 2020.

In addition, Platinum Equity Partner Jacob Kotzubei and Platinum Equity Managing Director Matthew Louie, in a joint statement, said, “Cision is expanding its product portfolio by investing in new technologies that offer its customers a complete suite of innovative tools for managing their brands. We will continue supporting the company’s pursuit of opportunities to drive growth organically and through additional acquisitions.”
