SEATTLE, 25 OCTOBER 2022 – Numurus LLC, a leading robotic solutions provider and creator of NEPI, the first commercial open-source software solution for automated and intelligent sensing applications, has raised USD 2 million in funding led by Tokusui Corporation of America Inc. to strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding robotics and intelligent sensing markets. This transaction, together with prior acquisitions, strengthens Numurus’ first-to-market position with its fully-developed NEPI software suite, which focuses on edge artificial intelligence (Edge AI), sensor and data abstraction, and system interface.

Numurus has  board of directors to provide continued strategic vision, and executive leadership as the company enters a period of rapid growth over the next year. Numurus CEO Jason Seawall is on the board, as are Ryan Mackey and Jonathan Doran from the current investment groups.’

This investment will also help Numurus expand its product development and professional services divisions, which are critical to the company’s commitment to providing scalable Edge AI-focused products and support to its customers.

According to Numurus CEO Jason Seawall:

“Numurus aspires to become a universal underlying platform for robotic and smart sensor systems by drastically reducing development costs and time to market for various new products in this industry, therefore removing a critical barrier to market scaling of such solutions. Because of Tokusui Corporation’s investment and assistance, we are well-positioned to carry out this ambition.”

Tokusui Corporation of America President Ryan Mackey:

“Having seen firsthand how Industry 4.0 technologies such as  IoT, AI, and robotics are rapidly changing Tokusui’s global food processing businesses, Tokusui believes that these technologies will have a broader impact across most of the industrial markets and believes that the Numurus’ NEPI software suite will be the  major driver of transformation in these industries.”

Before receiving funding from Tokusui, Numurus obtained funds from private investors who had previously invested in Mr. Seawall’s firm, BlueView Technologies, which Teledyne Technologies bought in 2012.

More about the company:

Numurus’ patent-pending flagship product NEPI, the Linux software distribution meant for  Edge AI and robotic applications that speeds intelligent solution creation, supports organizations in minimizing the cost, time, and risk involved with bringing Edge AI and mechanical applications to market.

The goal is to allow developers to focus on the end-user solution while offloading low-level middleware to NEPI, reducing development times for a new key from years to months. Numurus offers NEPI software support services with AI and intelligent-sensing software engineers to quickly answer questions and resolve issues.
