BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 13, 2022 — Lassen Peak reported today that the Series A investment rounds totaled more than USD 16 million. Octave Ventures and an unnamed strategic investor led the Series A and strategic A1 rounds, respectively. The investments also included participation from Lauder Partners, Alpha Intelligence Capital, Orbit Venture Partners, and other strategic investors.

For use in law enforcement, the military, and private venue applications, Lassen Peak is creating the first fully integrated handheld radar device in the world to detect concealed weapons. Physical weapon searches, sometimes known as “pat-downs,” are extremely risky for both the people conducting the search and those being searched. They address one of the biggest hazards to law enforcement employees as they seek to guarantee public safety and security. No matter whether there are weapons present or not, the close physical proximity and disputed nature of the physical contact, combined with the significant threat of concealed weapons, create a stressful situation that may escalate the use of force in a way that could cause serious injury.

Hatch Graham, the CEO and Board Chairman of Lassen Peak, says:

“This wide-ranging collection of viewpoints helps the business build a solution that benefits all parties pursuing safety and confidence in the public safety sector. As the business gets close to Pilots in 2023, Series A funding will give it the means to realize its objective.”

Similar advantages will come from Lassen Peak’s technology overseas in nations where knife crimes have increased to alarming proportions. According to Lassen Peak’s United Kingdom Managing Director, Paul Negus.

In the U.K., knife crime has increased to almost 49,000 incidents annually, which is a genuinely pandemic level. Consequently, the national Home Office level of U.K. law enforcement has made the development of handheld equipment that can find illegally concealed bladed weapons a top goal. In their attempts to combat the rising trend of concealed-bladed weapons, law enforcement and the national Task Forces will receive help from our Series A1 strategic capital.”

Founded in 2019, Lassen Peak is a Seattle-area startup that consists of a rare mix of industry technology leaders in ultra-highspeed wireless, geo-positioning, imaging radar, and other technologies, public safety veterans from the military, law enforcement, and high-volume entertainment industries, as well as leaders in civil rights and social justice. The team is dedicated to providing law enforcement and society with safe and less divisive alternatives to the legacy techniques of recognizing hidden dangerous objects and weapons by matching advanced technologies with the need for a shift in public safety solutions in the field.
