Eka Care, a provider of healthcare technology, raised USD 15 million in a Series A round on July 19, 2022, with the help of Hummingbird Ventures as the round’s lead investor and investors 3one4Capital, Mirae Assets, Verlinvest, Aditya Birla Ventures, Binny Bansal, Rohit MA, and others.

The company intends to use the money for new product development, hiring, and consumer education. This brings the startup’s total capital raised, including a USD 4.5 million seed round in July 2021, to around USD 20 million.

What the founders have to say:

Vikalp Sahni, who also leads the company as its chief executive officer (CEO):

“Our goal is to develop a technological foundation enabling every Indian to generate and maintain a health profile. Building tools for healthcare professionals and users will allow us to continue altering how healthcare is provided in India.”

Tuli,  the chief operations officer (COO) of Eka Care:

Our clinic management application “helps minimize the time in writing prescriptions, compliance, enhancing the online presence and overall revenue of the doctors, according to NMC (National Medical Commission) and NDHM (National Digital Health Mission) requirements.”

What the investors have to say:

Akshay Mehra, India Lead, Hummingbird Ventures:

“The government’s Unified Health Interface (UHI) project would help spread the usage of digital health services in India as the next step (after Unified Payments Interface). Our strong belief in Eka Care is fueled by the expanding need for a horizontal platform built on UHI, the product interoperability, and the founders’ success in scaling businesses across India in the past.”

More about the startup:

Vikalp Sahni and Deepak Tuli, former co-founders of Goibibo, established Eka Care in December 2020. Eka Care serves both patients and physicians. The business has created a digital clinic management platform for doctors while assisting individuals in creating their health profiles, enabling healthcare cost savings and improved outcomes.

With over three crore health records, 16 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs), and more than 5,000 clinicians using its Electronic Medical Records (EMR) solutions, Eka Care asserts that in the first year of its inception, it became the largest repository of health records and vitals in India.

Eka Care provides a complete stack clinic management platform that aids doctors in enhancing their online presence, keeping a digital journal, and corresponding with patients online.

Users can establish their health profiles by keeping medical information on the platform, such as medications, test and scan results, child development milestones and immunization records, heart rate patterns, blood sugar readings, and so forth. Each record is connected to a specific ABHA account.
