What the founder has to say:

Colossal Biosciences – CEO Ben Lamm:

“As we approach the mammoth, our business goal is to develop these technologies that we believe will have broader applicability in human healthcare. The idea would be to spin out a few technologies to generate new revenue streams while balancing off spending from the massive experiment’s other limbs.”

“Through cutting-edge genetic technologies, we’re taking the globe one step closer to reversing the downward trend of environmental degradation and the catastrophic loss of biodiversity, paving the way for de-extinction and species preservation. Our mammoth restoration project’s technology and solutions will not only bring Arctic elephants back to the tundra but will also have broader consequences for conservation, science, and humanity.”

What the investors have to say:

“With this latest round of funding, Colossal is in a strong position to achieve long-awaited achievements that will aid in the restoration of healthy ecosystems. We will soon have the option of shifting from being a mindless murderer of the world’s species to being thoughtful kin to all life – Tom Chi of One Ventures (that led the funding round)
