Headquartered in Singapore, Gumlet is an e-commerce content delivery SaaS network which specialises in media publishing automation and has closed US$ 1.6 million in a funding round held today, on July 27 2021. Sequoia Capital India’s Surge led the fundraise. Angel investors Miten Sampat, Aakrit Vaish, Swapan Rajdev and Yash Kothari were also witnessed participating in this round.

The SaaS startup’s modern built media delivery support provides the automation for the entire media publishing pipeline through minimal to no-code integration plugins.

Med processing nowadays is complex and messy that involves multiple formats, device sizes, and platforms, and customers have to rely on old-fashioned APIs that lack deep integration, expertise, and sustainability. With this platform, managing different versions and sizes of media files becomes very handy to the clients as new and upcoming images are automatically optimised for every user. Gumlet delivers oversize, compression, streaming, format conversion, delivery, transcoding, and analytics for all media files.

Gumlet claims to deliver a 30% to 50% better optimisation experience without compromising its quality and helps e-commerce firms to offer more salutary UX, faster server, save cloud expenses and improve SEO.

With serving more than 6,000 customers, the startup delivers nearly 4 billion media files weekly, producing a 25% growth rate in 2021 itself. Its attendants include online stores, crowdfunding portals, news sites, EdTech startups, blogs and travel sites.

Gumlet co-founder and CEO, Aditya Patadia, said, “Gumlet is all about offering a plug-and-play solution for media management and publishing. This, in turn, helps online businesses provide better UX, load pages faster, save cloud costs and improve SEO – resulting in tangible business impact. More than just delivering a SaaS tool for online publishers and businesses, our mission is to build a media delivery infrastructure for the internet.”

Co-founder and CMO of Gumlet, Divyesh Patel, commented on the fundraise, “As the internet becomes increasingly global and data-hungry, serving images and video in a high-performance, low-latency environment is fundamental for all websites to earn customer trust. With Gumlet, developers never have to worry about managing different versions and sizes of media files again.”
