Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) have teamed up with Startupbootcamp Australia (SBC Australia) to launch a new 3-month startup accelerator program from October-December 2021, designed to promote efforts to decarbonize the world.

Startupbootcamp Australia (SBC Australia) is a branch of one of the largest Europe-origin accelerators Startupbootcamp Group. SBC Australia specializes in energy-related acceleration and has a proven track record. The aim of the program is to scout and support promising startups with disruptive technologies and business ideas to solve the problems related to the energy and resource sectors.

MC and NYK have also separately collaborated with various startups that are invested in decarbonization. However, this new program will provide them with a joint platform to research the latest trends in decarbonization and opportunities to collaborate with emerging startups. Several program cycles will be conducted to accelerate a significant number of startups.

The Bootcamp is calling for applications that have a concept which challenges the status quo, are passionate about innovation/technology, looking to scale, raise capital and or needing to partner with corporates to build, test and validate their hypothesis.

The accelerator will connect them with mentors, industry leaders and investors and also help them to build the capability to pitch their businesses to the market well beyond the program. During the intense 3-month accelerator program, startups will receive hands-on mentorship from over 100 industry experts, seed funding and access to a global investors network with an ultimate goal of becoming industry-leading companies.
