The applications for the seventh edition of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) opened on 1st January 2020. The programme provides startups with training, mentorship and US$ 5,000 in funding.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is Africa’s leading entrepreneurship platform with an aim to empower African entrepreneurs. The foundation seeks to catalyse economic growth in the African continent, eradicate poverty and increase employment opportunities. TEF was founded by African investor and philanthropist, Tony O. Elumelu, the owner of the investment company, Heirs Holdings.

Till date, the Tony Elumelu Foundation has trained, mentored and funded over 9,000 young African entrepreneurs across 54 African countries through its Entrepreneurship Programmes. The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme was launched in 2015. It is a US$ 100 million commitment by Tony Elumelu to empower 10,000 African entrepreneurs over a period of 10 years. The programme identifies, mentors and funds entrepreneurs across Africa. It is also working in partnership with institutions such as the United Nations Development Programme, the African Development Bank, the International Committee of the Red Cross, GIZ and United Bank for Africa Plc to bring about a permanent impact across the African continent.

The applicants that will get through the selection process shall receive 12 weeks of intensive online business training, mentoring and US$ 5,000 in seed capital and access to further funding. They will also get access to the TEF network of startups. The Entrepreneurship Programme is open to entrepreneurs across Africa, both new start-ups and existing new businesses from any sector.
