A UK based biotechnology company Clear Surgical that brings equipment solutions for healthcare professionals has gained £20,000 investment in an oversubscribed funding round from its existing shareholders on 9th November 2020.

This funding round was led by Kelvin Capital with participation from Scottish Investment Bank and Scottish Health Innovations. Clear Surgical is planning to use this funding for the development of their advance and well built surgical devices. They are also going to use it for the development of their first product Oplight which is a LED based medical device that emits light.

The chairman of Clear Surgical Michelle Ward said, “This is a very exciting time for the business. The solutions we have created are developed by working closely with frontline surgeons and using their ideas in real life and thus they provide immediate and real benefits. The products we deliver are not speculative as they are built from the perspective of the people who are going to use them or who want to use them.”

The UK based enterprise Clear Surgical provides optimum solutions for the equipment issues that healthcare professionals identify and face. They aim at providing intelligent solutions for complex equipment issues. The precise engineered equipment is designed to offer workable and practical solutions for the complex surgical procedures.

Surgical Light Illumination Advancement – Oplight

The first product of Clear Surgical, Oplight is a LED based surgical equipment. It is the latest advancement in the domain of surgical light illumination. It was developed by Arran clinician Dr. Murali Subramaniam (a vascular surgeon who identified the advantages of using advanced lightening during surgeries) and former NHS Ayrshire. The equipment is designed to light up the whole surgical cavity area at its site without omitting any shadow. Oplight is beneficial for medical surgery, dental surgery and veterinary surgery. The Class 1 sterile, self adhesive, flat blade and reactor compatible properties of Oplight make it perfect for these professionals. Currently, their product is sold in around 20 countries worldwide including Italy Medipath, Lesser China (Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong), and KSA Brazil.
