New York based Obsess closes seed funding round at US$ 3.4 million

New York based e-commerce platform for creating virtual showrooms, Obsess has closed its seed funding round with US $3.4 million on 27th October 2020. The round was led by WXR Fund, Jump Capital and Reality Fund.

Obsess is the platform which has reinvented the e-Commerce interface for the category of discovery driven products. The mission is to transform online shopping into a lively experience and convert the monotonous grid interface of e-commerce which is still the same one that Amazon created 25 years ago for selling books. It has a virtual and augmented reality based software platform that provides experiential shopping. The proprietary technology of Obsess enables various retailers and brands to provide 360 3D shopping experiences over their websites, social channels and mobile apps through their 3D e-commerce cloud.

The enterprise is planning to use this funding in the expansion of operations and business reach. They have already created completely shoppable experiences for some leading brands like Diesel, Samsung, Ulta Beauty, Farfetch, Tommy Hilfiger and Sam’s club.

The platform helps to engage customers with its fastest performing and high quality virtual reality shopping platform in the market with its proprietary technology. The reach of these virtual tours is increased as they are shoppable and accessible 24/7. The distinctive format of brands increases the label and product recall to build loyalty towards brands.

The platform includes two major categories of products: virtual reality and augmented reality. The virtual reality best shopping platform enables retailers and online stores for their web sites which are optimized for mobile. These virtual stores are powered by the proprietary cloud platform with 3D commerce specialty. Whereas the augmented reality based products are built with retail, ecommerce and marketing purposes. Augmented Reality for commerce increases the conversion rate by helping customers to participate interactively to view fashion and other products in a 3D manner like in the real world. This helps them to compare various other products side by side and make an informed decision. AR for the retail section helps the consumers to get the media associated with other info about the product on the same app rather than in some third party platform. AR for marketing by offering innovative experiences such as pop-up stores that are possible through AR.

Headquartered in the greater New York area, Obsess was founded in 2017 by Neha Singh. The team at Obsess brings expertise in consumer web, platform engineering, fashion, mobile tech, 3D, gaming and e-commerce.
