SYKY (pronounced “psyche”), a next-generation premium fashion platform, has closed a USD 9.5 million Series A fundraising round. Alexis Ohanian’s business, Seven Seven Six, is leading the investment. Brevan Howard Digital, First Light Capital Group, Leadout Capital, and Polygon Ventures also contributed to the financing.

SYKY, the former Chief Digital & Content Officer at Ralph Lauren and Digital & Social Marketing Director at Burberry, led by Alice Delahunt, is building the future of fashion and blockchain-enabled luxury platform that will serve as an incubator, marketplace, and a social community for the next generation of designers and consumers.

This round of funding will assist Delahunt in realizing her vision and goal of enabling the digital-first generation to create, curate, share, and trade their fashion collections.

“With Web3, the potential is infinite, and fashion’s position in this future is no exception,” stated Alexis Ohanian. “Fashion ideas may bring to bear the finest qualities of an open internet and creative expression. With society so much impacted by the runway, digital fashion will boost options for creatives and consumers. We invested in Alice and SYKY because we believe in Alice’s goal of creating the most influential fashion platform and community for the next generation of designers and consumers.”

According to a recent survey by Roblox and Parsons School of Design on digital fashion and self-expression trends, 70% of Gen Z’s physical style is inspired by their digital style, and almost half of Gen Z looks to digital techniques to experiment with new styles in both digital and real life. Furthermore, approximately 75% of Gen Z stated they would spend money on digital fashion, according to the trends survey.

SYKY will also release The Keystone, its first NFT, on January 20, 2023, to coincide with this milestone. As part of the more significant release and in the spirit of SYKY’s objective to give access to creative potential, 50 Keystones will be awarded to budding designers.
