Purpose of acquisition by eBay

With the latest acquisition of TCGplayer, eBay can focus on category strategy and further build on its offerings to bring even more selection to enthusiasts. 

eBay’s 26 years of experience complements the commitment of TCGplayer to the trading cards category with the latter’s comprehensive e-commerce platform and strategic omnichannel capabilities such as order fulfilment and cart optimization. The acquisition allows the companies to enhance the overall collecting experience for customers. 

Sellers can now bring physical supplies online and create customizable websites. Moreover, with TCGplayer, they can rapidly upload, sort and identify large catalogues.
