Germany-based Teamviewer, a leading global provider of remote connectivity and workplace digitalization solutions, joined hands with global automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor. The companies announced the partnership on September 30, 2022. The vision is to accelerate digital innovation in the smart automotive industry.

Purpose of partnership for TeamViewer and Hyundai Motor

The goal of the collaboration is to maximize digitization benefits in HMGICS’ (Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore) smart factory by leveraging TeamViewer’s Augmented Reality (AR) platform. The platform aids in functions such as assembly, maintenance, quality management, logistics, client experience projects and workforce training.

Moreover, both companies agreed to conduct joint research and development (R&D) activities. The focus on R&D will be in segments such as AR-powered innovative factory operations, immersive digital experience for frontline workers and AI support for a future automotive factory. All in all, the partnership aims to drive increased productivity, accuracy, speed, and safety of frontline production workers.
