Denmark-based Teamway, a tech company, recently secured EUR 1 million in funding. The pre-Seed extension round took place on August 31, 2022. U.S-based CMT Digital led the financing for the firm. Meanwhile, Invested and Jeffrey Haas, a prominent Web3-focused angel investor, participated in the funding. Besides, existing investor Dreamcraft Ventures joined in the investment.

Purpose of funding for Teamway

With the latest funding, Teamway intends to fuel its ability to further develop its platform as a decentralised member-owned society for product builders.

Teamway aims to develop its infrastructure and launch its TMW token later this fall. The launch will enable Teamway’s members to earn tokens for their work in Teamway’s society.

What the co-founder has to say

Søren Nørgaard, Co-founder and CEO of Teamway, believes that remote work is the only way forward in modern society. Speaking on the recent funding, he said, “As supply and demand gaps for skills have widened, the competition for world-class talent has put pressure on companies to be smarter about how they utilise their workforce and how they source the skills they need. By embracing a remote work setup, you are able to stay competitive on the talent side and work at the speed it takes to be adaptable in an ever-changing market, both when it comes to market tendencies and technological changes.”

What the investor has to say

Sam Hallene, the investor at CMT Digital, said, “Workforce dynamics have changed considerably over the last two years, and we believe Teamway’s member-owned society is well-positioned to reshape the employment landscape as they continue to reinvent the way companies interact with freelance teams.”

CMT is a U.S-based venture capital firm focused on blockchain technology and the Web3 ecosystem.

About the company

Teamway is a Danish startup founded in late 2020. Søren Nørgaard and Kristian Kongsted are the co-founders of the company. However, the company launched its operations in 2021. Teamway leverages Web3 technology to build the most empowering, member-owned society for product builders. Søren Nørgaard has a background in Silicon Valley, and Kristian Kongsted most recently worked as a Chief Developer at the national bank of Denmark before founding Teamway.

The Web3 technology enables Teamway to build their product out in the open in co-creation with their society. This co-creation process sets an example of how to lead the next era of work. It results in various product updates in the future.

The idea for the company arose during Covid-19, where it became more apparent than ever how important it is to empower an elastic, remote work setup using the potential of Web3.
