The recent acquisition is BetterPlace’s fourth acquisition in ten months. Previously, it acquired gig-worker platform OkayGo in May 2022. The HRMs startup acquired microlearning platform Oust Labs, workforce fulfilment platform Aasaanjobs and frontline jobs classified platform Waah Jobs earlier in October 2021.

Purpose of Acquisition by BetterPlace

The acquisition of EzeDox will help BetterPlace consolidate its leadership position as the largest and the only full-stack tech player in the Indian frontline workforce management space. The workforce management business in India is a USD 80-billion opportunity.

BetterPlace will enable enterprises to automate and digitise their frontline workforce management processes from day 1 of commencing operations using EzeDox’s custom workflow builder capabilities. Further, it would enhance the enterprises’ ability to scale across newer industries and enforce compliance norms much more efficiently. EzeDox was valued at USD 2 million in its seed stage round back then.

What the BetterPlace founder has to say

“With over 200 million frontline workers in the country today, we have the second-largest employable population after China. However, most enterprises in India are still facing a multitude of challenges ranging from a shortage of skilled manpower to effective ways of engaging with their workforce. With this acquisition, our integrated solution stack is strengthened further to manage the entire lifecycle of the workforce,” said Pravin Agarwala, co-founder and CEO at BetterPlace.

What the EzeDox founders have to say

“We are delighted to join hands with BetterPlace in its shared vision of building a robust tech-first platform for enterprises to effectively manage the lifecycle of large frontline workforces. Our no-code workflow builder platform helps enterprises to improve cost-effectiveness through self and assisted onboarding and custom distribution workflows while solving for adherence to compliance norms,” said Veerendra Mishra and Vaibhav Jain cofounders, EzeDox.
