leap.club, a women-focused social network, has launched ‘the table,’ a venture fund to promote female-led enterprises. In collaboration with AngelList, the early-stage fund will work with 10-15 early-stage startups over the next 12 months, writing checks ranging from US $50,000 to US $500,000.

Among those joining the syndicate are Ghazal Alagh, co-founder and CEO of Mamaearth; Ankur Warikoo, angel investor and founder of Nearbuy; Lizzie Chapman, CEO of Zest Money; and Amit Damani, founder of Vista Rooms.

The leap.club staff will work with the founders to assist them in raising funds and getting them ready for investment. Leap.club wants to grow its membership to 100,000 people in the next two years.

What the founder has to say:

The founders: Ragini Das & Anand Sinha

“In 2021, venture capital funding shattered all previous records. However, one statistic did not shift the needle: female founders raised only 2% of venture capital funds. The situation is significantly worse in India. Our objective at leap.club is to achieve gender equality in business, work, and social life. Our members number in the thousands, and through our contacts with them, we’ve learned that access to finance and networks is a major roadblock. WE realized we had a chance to make a difference, so we created ‘the table’.” – Ragini Das and Anand Sinha, co-founders of leap.club.
