Bangalore-based Fintech Startup, Perfios raised USD 70 million (540 crore INR) in Series C on February 25, 2022. The existing investors- Warburg Pincus and Bessemer India led the funding. Perfios is the first fintech platform to enter the unicorn club in 2022. Earlier, Hasura (an Indian startup) joined the unicorn club this week. Hasura is a GraphQL developer. Overall 96 Indian startups are a part of the unicorn valuation. 

Purpose of the funding-

The funds will be used for financing the acquisitions of other companies. The Fintech Platform seeks to meet its capital expenditure and working capital requirements with this funding.

Warburg Pincus Asia’s affiliate, Pear Valley Investment, invested USD 55 million (INR 409.22 crore). In addition, Bessemer India granted USD 14.8 million (116 crore INR).

Previously, Perfios raised USD 50 million in November 2019 in its Series B round. Warburg Pincus and Bessemer India also led the last funding.

On February 10, 2022, Perfios sought approval to raise USD 40 million (INR 300 crore) via debt funding.

Investor’s stake in the Perfios Platform

With the latest funding, Warburg is the largest stakeholder in the Fintech Platform, Perfios. Warburg’s stake is 41.6% in the current investment. Its co-founders, Debshish Chakraborty and V.R Govindarajan hold 7.3% and 7.5%, respectively. 

Meanwhile, Bessemer India, Perfios long time investor, holds 32.1%.
