TravClan raises USD 2.2 million in a pre-Series A round

On Wednesday (22/September/2021), Delhi-based TravClan, a B2B travel startup, announced that it raised USD 2.2 Million in a pre-series A round. This funding round was co-led by TheVentures, a venture capital firm based in Singapore and South Korea, along with Leo Capital India, the existing investors of the startup. 

In August 2019, Leo capital led the seed round of the startup. Rajul Garg the founder of Leo Capital India said that the firm partnered with TravClan when the business was growing rapidly before the pandemic.

“The resilience, conviction, and ability to grow displayed by the founders at a time when other companies struggled to survive, speaks volumes about the quality of the founding team,” he said, vouching for a “tremendous growth opportunity in the global market to support travel agents and ventures”.

About TravClan – 

TravClan was initiated by Arun Bagaria, Ashish Thapliyal and Chirag Agrawal in October 2018. The co-founders have prior experience of working in companies like Ola, Cars24 and Travel Triangle. 

By leveraging the tech capabilities to revive travel businesses globally by developing websites and selling products digitally. The startup currently has more than 70 team members and more than 500 suppliers globally. 

TravClan claims that it has grown more than 10 times since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Arun ensured the startup’s aims to empower travel businesses and entrepreneurs.

The startup’s more than 70 per cent of its business came from holidays internationally, prior to the pandemic. It aids travel agents to build their business online and manage the operations including collection, booking and payment of money. Despite the pandemic, it claims to have an organic customer base that has increased three times. 

TravClan is actively using 43 technologies for its website, according to BuiltWith. These include Viewport Meta, IPhone / Mobile Compatible, and SSL by Default. The regions in which the startup gets most of it visits from India, Indonesia and Canada. 

In May 2021, this B2B travel platform unveiled a new platform letshelpeachother.in to fight the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic by developing a single resource point that provides all the information about resources to aid people.  

Till now TravClan has raised in total USD 3.2 Million in funding. By 2025 the startup hopes to bring over 10 million SMBs onboard and enable a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of over $10 billion on the platform.
