Established in 2012 by Aurelian Nicolae, John Capodilupo and Will Ahmed, Whoop specializes in providing individualized and anytime fitness and coaching through a valuable response on recovery, sleep and physical activity. The membership allows users, including professional athletes, to access hardware, a fitness platform framed to hone one’s behaviour and a group of intense performers free of cost. The company has over 500 working staff, of which 225 employees are new recruits, hired in the last 12 months. It also seeks to build offices across different geographies in 2022 and plans to open new headquarters in Boston, accommodating 1000 employees.

What the Founder has to say: “It is exhilarating to strengthen our collaboration with SoftBank as we witness global growth. Though the company has undergone remarkable growth in the last year, the real capability of its platform, tech and the massive market for fitness and health is majorly unexploited.”- Will Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Whoop.

What the Investors have to say: “Whoop has been continuously observing exponential growth in its user-base as it alters human performance, introduces new attributes and offerings concentrated on allowing its customers to live fitter lives. It is delighting to continue providing financial support to Whoop’s leadership team and other members as they pursue and prioritize on optimizing the health services in the U.S and grow globally.”- Kristin Bannon, Investment Director at Softbank Investment Advisors.
