About the company –

Hwy Haul is a Silicon Valley-based startup founded and established by Sharan Grewal, Syed Aman, and Zahid Khan in October 2018. Its founders Aman and Sharan, have experience working with Walmart in the USA, where Aman has worked as supply chain director. Sharan worked in a critical engineering position at Walmart labs. The third co-founder of the company Zahid has experienced nearly three decades in the fresh produced and logistic industry.

Hwy Haul’s digital platform for fresh produce removes the middleman and links the farmers, wholesalers and distributors directly. The company focuses on efficiently delivering produce, eliminating wastage, creating sustainable growth and reducing carbon footprints of freight.

The tracking of the load can be more accessible, and it will also provide real-time humidity percentage and temperature monitoring as the shipments move from one country to another. The company’s data insight will aid to reduce waiting times, lower detention costs and optimise the supply chain.

Words from the Founders –

“Produce spends half its life in the supply chain, and more than $15 billion is wasted or rejected in transit every year. Existing produce shipping methods are largely manual, with poor visibility and communication within the supply chain. These inefficiencies lead to a further problem of empty miles and their associated carbon emissions,” said Syed Aman, CEO and co-founder of Hwy Haul.

“The produce freight brokerage industry has been operating in traditional ways for decades. We are excited to lead this investment round for Hwy Haul and support their mission to digitise every step in the value chain and create a seamless experience for the food and fresh produce fraternity,” said Kishore Bopardikar, founder and partner at Eileses Capital.
