Sirclo, an Indonesian company that provides integrated e-commerce solutions for brands of all sizes, announced on 7th April 2021 that it has acquired Orami. Details regarding the acquisition costs were not disclosed. Post the acquisition Orami will continue as an independent entity that is integrated with Sirclo’s line of service.
Orami is an Indonesian online shopping platform that was founded in the year 2012 with Eka Himawan, Ferry Tenka and Shannon Kalayanamitr as the founders. It is one of the first parenting platforms of Indonesia and the preferred shopping destination of the women in south Asia. It enjoys over 5 million monthly active users and has built a growing community of parents, who find suitable childcare, parenting and household information, and products for babies.
Prior to its acquisition, Orami had raised a total of over US $ 15 million in funding with its latest series B funding round conducted in April 2016.
With the completion of the acquisition Orami’s CEO, Ferry Tenka is set to join Sirclo as the Chief Marketing Officer and its president Hendrawan Kartika will be working as the Chief Financial Officer of Sirclo.
Sirclo is another Indonesian company that was founded in the year 2013 by Andreas Thamrin, Brian Marshal and Leontius Adhika Pradhana. It seeks to become the leading provider of e-commerce solutions and software for the local businesses based in Indonesia.
It describes its mission as follows- “ Being an e-commerce solution #1 for brands to sell online to Indonesian consumers.
Sirclo’s first product Sirclo Store is a website creation service based on ready-made templates. It enables brands to launch their official websites to facilitate online transactions for customers. In 2017 it launched its second product named Sirclo Commerce. Sirclo Commerce is an end-to-end management tool/solution that enables organisations to smoothly handle their online distribution channels. Currently, Sirclo has around 400 employees with its offices in Bandung, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. (All in Indonesia)
The acquisition will help Sirclo to increase its market reach by tapping into the large and loyal customer base of Orami.
