Israel based startup Spectral secures USD 6.2 Million

Tel Aviv based start-up Spectral raises USD 6.2 million funds in seed round led by MizMaa Ventures. They also brought their DevSecOps code scanner out of stealth recently.

Investors: The capitalization of USD 6.2 million was acquired in the seed funding round led by MizMaa ventures.

What the funding is for: The fresh funding would be utilized for the development of DevOps services and for further improvements in their infrastructure. According to sources, the organization is also aiming to expand their reach around the world.

Founders of the company: Dotan Nahum, Idan Didi, Lior Reuven and Uri Shamay

About the company: Spectral is a privately held organization which operates under the computer software industry. Its headquarters is located in Tel Aviv and has a work strength of approximately 11-50 employees. They deal with various specialties like development management, machine learning and database.

What the CEO has to say: “We basically stored certificates for every client that we had, so we could send their applications to the various marketplaces. That certificate really proves that you are who you are and it’s super sensitive. And at each point at these companies, I really didn’t have the right tools to actually make sure what we are storing, detecting and handling and making sure that it doesn’t leak anywhere.” — Idan Didi, Co-founder of Spectral.

“Our solution prevents security breaches on a daily basis. The pain points we are addressing resonate strongly across every company developing software, because as they evolve from their own code to glue code to no code approaches, they allow their developers to gain more speed, but they also add a significant amount of risk. Spectral lets developers be more productive while keeping the company secure.” — Dotan Nahum, Co-founder of Spectral.

What the investors have to say: “One interesting aspect of Spectra’s approach, which uses a machine learning model to detect these breaches across programming languages is that it also scans public facing systems. On the backend Spectral integrates with tools like Travis, Jenkins and much more. It can also monitor Slack, npm and maven and log providers.” — General Manager at MizMaa Ventures.

“The emphasis is to create a great developer experience, because that’s where we started from. We didn’t start as a top-down cyber tool. We started as a modest DevOps friendly, developer friendly tool.” — General Manager at MizMaa Ventures.
