Mumbai based Health And Wellness Startup Toothsi Raises 5 Million USD

Toothsi, a Mumbai based dental tech startup, announced that it had raised a Series A round of 5 Million USD on 8th of January 2021. Their main aim is to expand their footprints on more than 15 cities in India.

Toothsi is a health, wellness and fitness startup which mainly focuses on dental healthcare technology. Its headquarters region is in Asia – Pacific (APAC). It was founded in 2018 by Orthodontist Dr. Arpi Mehta, Dr. Manjul Jain, Dr. Anirudh Kale and Dr. Praveen Shetty.

Toothsi’s main focus is to provide affordable prices for everyone for hassle free teeth strengthening services and customers can have access to high ranked quality, transparent braces care with suitable alternatives at home. Currently they have approximately 150 – 200 employees working across offices in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Its main headquarter office is in Kohinoor City Mall, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400070, India.

Toothsi is a part of its parent company of AMPA Orthodontics Pvt. Ltd. It is also a D2C aligner company which treated approximately 7,500 customers last year with good reviews and in the coming year are planning to serve more than 50,000 customers.

With the purpose to uplift customer’s touchpoints to regulate education around Toothsi’s procedure, the company is thinking to start experiential centres in main cities so that the customers will easily get a  scan and speak to professionals. 

In an interview on Friday, the startup mentioned that they will start utilizing newly acquired funds to develop their main goal that is “to promote a perfect smile”. It also revealed that they will improve their Research and Development facilities and also invest in expertise and professional capabilities. Capitalizing on stereotypical obsessive mindsets on appearance, Toothsi’s developing goal is to give a perfect smile to everyone with 60% reasonable prices as compared to other competitors in markets. The basic package of the company costs around 709 USD.

The Mumbai – Based startup has also recently launched a skin-care platform called ‘Skinnsi’. It served more than 10,000 customers over a year for laser hair removal services at home with affordable prices.  According to some external sources, the margin of a company’s contribution is expanding and positive with 30% every coming month and is consistently growing with that gradient.
