Botanical Solution Inc., a California based innovator of highly consistent cost-effective and sustainable Advanced Botanical Materials, announced securing US$ 3.3 million seed funding on 23rd December 2020. They are also planning to close another funding round for the coming spring 2021.
The seed funding round of Botanical solutions was joined by multiple organizations like the International Development Bank. The other investors of the round include Sembrador Capital, El Viento, Sociedad de Inversiones Celta and Inmobiliaria E Inversiones El Coigue. The accelerators; The Yield Lab Business Accelerator and Ganesha Lab Business Accelerator and the angel investors Wolfgang Schuch and Ignacio Smith also participated in the seed funding round.
The next funding round the company is planning in Spring 2021 will boost Botanical Solution’s ability for discovering and developing botanical products that are cost effective, highly consistent and sustainable. The proprietary platform the company offers eliminates the prime barriers like quality or the supply issues that have stopped traditional botanicals from becoming successful commercially.
The first commercially successful creation of Botanical Solution is biofungicide Botristop. Botristop is based on q native tree of Chile, Quillaja saponaria. The recent seed funding round will support the production and sales growth of this bio fungicide particularly in soil with the distribution partner of company Syngenta. Botristop will be registered soon in several Latin American countries and they are expecting regulatory progress in the European Union and US regions in 2021.
The growth capability for the Chile native tree with the use of biotechnology process will also serve other purposes like producing billions of doses of the gold standard adjuvant QS-21 in a sustainable manner, that is presently being used an covid-19 and a few other vaccines.
