Perigee, A Boston based cybersecurity platform announced securing US$ 1.5 million first funding on 17 December 2020.
Led by Outsiders Fund the round was also joined by other investors BBG Ventures, Westport, Contour Venture Partners, Innospark and a few other Angel investors.
Perigee aims to execute the areas of organizations like HVAC systems or the elevators that interact with the network of companies but come outside the typical network security monitoring domain. The company is planning to use investment to develop their product range, grow their organization within environmental controls and hire new talent to enrich their services.
The value proposition of Perigee is about filling the gap between operational security and network security. They provide the set of analytics for helping security teams to view deeply this vulnerable area.
Founded by Mollie Breen, who is a foreman an NSA mathematician the cyber security enterprise combines machine learning expertise with network exploitation to put a stop on malicious threats improving the behavior and extending the life of several connected digital devices in real time. Breen plans to grow the Perigee team to six people within next year and thinks deeply about how to build a diverse organization. Previously leading a team at NSA which was focused on critical infrastructure, with the new enterprise she is extending the expertise to the critical infrastructure across organizations with the specific focus on the connected devices. She believes it is essential to focus on the early employees and hire diverse candidates actively.
The Perigee platform provides smart security services for IOT devices connected to the critical infrastructure of companies. The target and mitigate the device specific vulnerabilities so that people can maintain the device functionality even after the support and life ends. The organizations can get real time status for all of their legacy devices and recommend the actions they want. Built with the concept of getting productivity from OT without any vulnerability, they initially focus on environmental controls in various industries like healthcare.
