Sweden-based fintech startup, Juni has raised €2 million in a seed funding round held in November 2020, led by Cherry Ventures. Notable angel investors, namely NA-KD’s founder and CEO Jarno Vanhatapio, as well as iZettle’s former chief strategy and communications officer Johan Bendz also participated in the funding round.

Proceeds from the funding round will be utilized for product development and hiring new people.

Founded in June 2020 by Samir El-Sabini and Anders Orsedal, Juni is an online banking platform for e-commerce and online marketing professionals. The founders got the idea of launching Juni after observing a need for better and efficient banking in e-commerce from their personal experiences in this field.

Juni is designed to help e-commerce and online marketing businesspersons to concentrate on their greater business goals by combining financial facets and enabling integration and automation. The startup doesn’t intend to become another e-commerce brand. It simply wants to provide a steady banking service to those companies who can trust Juno to cater to their requirements.

Juni will be officially launching its product in early 2021 but has already opened the waitlist to sign up for its open beta access. Co-founder Samir El-Sabini, who has formerly worked on the business and legal front of e-commerce businesses said they’re building a financial partner that will help e-commerce and marketing businesses thrive every single step of the way. He further added that they are extremely excited to partner with Cherry Ventures, Jarno, and Johan as they bring unmatched backgrounds in this space, justly making Juni the e-commerce banking solution made by e-commerce and fintech professionals.
