Jakarta, Indonesia-based telemedicine startup, Alodokter has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series C+ funding round held in November 2020, led by MDI Ventures. Other participants in the funding round include Sequis Life, Golden Gate Ventures, Heritas Capital and Hera Capital.

The latest funding is an extension of the Series C round raised in 2019.

Proceeds from the funding round will be used by the startup to augment its capabilities to cater to Indonesian users and develop its digital health platform to become more robust, accessible and reasonably priced, as said by Suci Arumsari, President Director of Alodokter. He also went on to describe the funding as a fusion of Telkom Indonesia’s community service mission for Indonesians and Alodokter’s business approach to supporting general healthcare.

Alodokter, founded in 2014 by Nathanael Faibis and Suci Arumsari, offers end-to-end automated solutions to patients such as telemedicine, doctor appointment, medical content and health insurance services. It also provides reliable information, access to supportive communities, and detailed reference matters related to healthcare. The startup aims to bring first-class medical services to its 27 million+ monthly active users by presenting an integrated mobile solution for patients and doctors.

Its platform, available both on iOS and Android, claims to have been connecting more than 30K doctors and 1500 hospitals and health centers with millions of Indonesian patients. It also provides multiple services based on telemedicine such as scheduling offline doctor appointments, insurance services and digital healthcare content.

Alodokter is also ready to launch new online pharmacy services in the next few months.

The startup had previously raised US$ 2.5M in a Series A funding round led by Golden Gate Ventures in 2016 and seed funding in 2015.
