Fnatic, a global esports brand based in London has raised US$ 10 million funding on 11th November 2020. The round was led by Beringea and included participation from its existing investors LVL 1 Group, JHD, Key Management and Unbound. 

The announcement of crowdfunding campaign 

The investment will be utilized in growing their esports brand and improving the success rate of their high performing team. They are also planning to raise £1 million i.e US$ 1.3 million through a crowdfunding campaign with Crowdcube which will be launched for public on 19th November 2020. They plan to enhance the world of esports and make it accessible for everyone and this crowdfunding campaign is an important part of that. The funds from the crowdfunding campaign will be utilized in the initiatives that will speed up their mission for leveling up the next generation of online gamers.  

The founder and CEO of Fnatic, Sam Mathews said, “We were looking forward to conducting a crowdfunding campaign from sometime. This investment brings us the right opportunity for our friends; enthusiasts and community to join the group of investors and own a share of Fnatic.”

The journey of Fnatic began with their own professional teams of esports which further grew into branded gears, gaming keyboards and team jerseys. In the last 3 years they have been among one of the most viewed teams in the Western esports fan base and stand on the second most watched team of 2020. The team has won cash rewards of around US$ 16 million in approx 903 tournaments with some amazing brand partnerships like BMW, Lawazza and Gucci.
