Visual data protection startup Pimloc gains £1.4 million seed funding

A London-based company for visual security and privacy, Pimloc has raised £1.4 million in a seed funding round on 19th October 2020. The round was led by VC Amadeus Capital Partners and included the participation of Speedinvest and its existing investors.

The enterprise founded in 2016, has developed systems based on deep learning for diverse image and security video collections. The technology is helpful for both public and private organizations for protecting visual data and managing security footage. The startup specifically offers two products or platforms, Pholio and Secure Redact. Pholio is a platform for discovering and searching for live streams, video collections and large images. And Secure Redact is for the purpose of anonymising personal data in any video.

The startup also offers a range of data processing models on the legal side to cater the differences in how and where of data processing. A few of the customers use Pimloc for data processing and Redact SaaS solution for managing their account while they upload footage which can be reviewed later for reduction and usage. And some of the customers run the Redact systems on their servers where both of them can be used as processor and data controller.
