The startup Scratchpad announced on 6th October 2020 about racing the US $3.6 million seed funding in a round led by Accel. Other VCs Shrug Capital, Sound Ventures, an enterprise operated by Guy Oseary and Ashton Kutcher, and a few other individual investors also participated in the round.

The idea behind Scratchpad

In the previous year, the CEO and co-founder of the company, Pouyan Salehi, backed off from his previous enterprise PersistIQ, a sales enablement startup and came from Y-Combinator in the year 2014. He along with his co-founder Cyrus Karbassiyoon started the research for a new company. He found the idea behind Scratchpad while simply observing how the people at Salesforce worked. They noticed the usage of many tools like Google docs for Evernote for taking notes, tracking the details in excel on Google sheets, and noting their tasks in notes apps or paper lists. These tools are not connected with Salesforce, therefore required a manual method of copying and pasting the data. This got them the opportunity to create a tool that can gather all of this information at a single place and connect it with the Salesforce platform and automate all of this manual work.

The platform Salesforce is a CRM and is not meant for speed. Scratchpad aims to simplify that process by creating a workspace over the CRM that can increase the administration side of work. The company has been in the market for a year and has thousands of free-tier users of its tool. They have seven employees and aim to hire more in the coming year.

About Scratchpad

Scratchpad
Scratchpad

The company Scratchpad was founded to update Salesforce to take the notes and work on the daily to-dos. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California. As Salesforce requires too much clicking, it is quite slow to load. Because of the same reasons, people take notes and organize their events in separate apps that are not connected to the platform. Switching between different tabs gets things disordered. The idea behind Scratchpad is to hike up from sales, which means all the tasks are done within the same platform.
