Cambodia-based digital media startup, Mediaload has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in a Series A round held in October 2020, from True Digital Group.
Proceeds from the funding round will be used by Mediaload to develop its content offering on its platform and increase its footprint into new regions.
Groupin, Mediaload’s parent group runs an e-commerce startup named Little Digital in Cambodia, which in 2019 raised US$ 5M in a Series A funding round from PE firm Belt Road Capital Management. It was deemed as the largest funding round in Cambodia’s entire history, raised by a local startup at the time.
Khmerload had previously secured US$ 200K in 2017 from 500 Startups.
Dr. Michael Gryseels, Executive Vice Chairman of TDG was quoted to say, “As the region’s digital enabler, we look forward to bringing the standard we set for TrueID’s premium lifestyle content and services to the audiences in Cambodia and Myanmar.” He further added that Mediaload, with its existing markets, will be able to leverage its local know-how to improve the digital lifestyle experiences of the people while maintaining the quality standard known from True Digital Group. He expects that the collaboration will be an important breakthrough in elevating the digital potential for lifestyle content and services in Southeast Asia.
