1. SWIGGY

Swiggy is a food ordering and delivery startup that provides food services solutions for restaurants. Vishal Bhatia is Swiggy’s CEO. The company’s delivery staff provides deliveries to customers through an App that runs on routing algorithms. Customers can also track their orders in real-time. Initially Swiggy used to offer free deliveries. Today, Swiggy charges its customers Rs. 30 (average) for delivery but also provides free delivery on many orders.

Swiggy has more than 0.2 million employees and operates in 300+ Indian cities. In early 2019, Swiggy expanded into general product deliveries, under the label Swiggy Stores.

In September 2019, Swiggy started an instant pick up and drop service Swiggy Go. With the help of this service, you can pick up and drop off a wide range of items, including laundry and document or parcel deliveries to business clients and trade customers.

In May 2020, Swiggy laid off 1100 employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. ZOMATO

Zomato is an online mobile App for finding restaurants, food-ordering, delivery, pick-up and table booking. It is an Indian restaurant search and discovery service that provides information, menus and user-reviews of partner-restaurants. The App covers over a million restaurants across the globe and currently operates in 24 countries. The App and website also allow users to upload images of the menu items they order as well as the eatery’s pictures and any review they want to give about the same.

Zomato also launched a white-label platform where restaurants can make their own Apps with personalized features and integrate with Zomato’s Order and Analytical support.

Cure.fit is an Indian health and fitness company that offers digital and offline services across fitness, nutrition and also mental welfare. Its aim is to make fitness fun and relaxed. Curefit focuses on preventive healthcare space through its services.

Mukesh Bansal is also the co-founder of Myntra, an Indian fashion e-commerce site.

Curefit also provides fresh and personalized salads under the label Eatfit. It also home delivers fresh and home-like food low in carbs, high in protein including lots of green vegetables. The focus is on healthy food ranging from Indian cuisine to fusion food, salads and snacks. Hrithik Roshan, a very popular Indian actor is Curefit’s brand ambassador.

MagicPin is a coupons website. They provide vouchers and cashback to users. MagicPin is based in 16 Indian cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. The startup has 1.4 million users and generates monthly sales of approx. US$0.4 Million for partner food and beverage (F&B) chains that include KFC and Hard Rock Café. MagicPin is also trying to venture into two other segments: groceries and beauty & wellness(B&W).

Diners can earn cashback if they dine in a restaurant aligned with MagicPin by uploading a photo of the bill along with a selfie with the dish. To increase user engagement, MagicPin uses data from social media check-ins, recommendations and reviews in a live feed-style timeline interface. The platform also helps restaurants in promotional service by posting surveys and advertisements.
