London-based Lick Home has secured €3.3M in a seed funding round held in August 2020, led by Felix Capital.
Launched in 2020 by Lucas London and Sam Bradley, Lick Home is a direct-to-consumer home decor brand offering high quality decorating tools and their true-to-color stick-on samples delivered right to the consumer’s door.
Their online platform offers a variety of durable and low-odor paints, and artisan wallpaper. With their target demographic not just limited to the general public, they also seek to proffer their home beautifying services to professionals. According to Lick, today 60% of the paint market is bought and applied by professionals and this group emphasizes not just on aesthetic work and quality, but also a simpler and enhanced customer service experience. Lick’s product intends to address both audiences, through its two platforms, Lick Home and Lick Pro.
Lick’s products usually have a visual character that allows passionate people to share work and upload user-generated content. The startup has created a design blog that integrates user photos, expert feedback, and how-to articles. It also very recently launched the “NHS Blue” paint color supporting NHS (the British health service) charities.
Lick Home works on the vision of the easy transformation of the spaces one calls home. No more waiting around, no more “one day”, no more making do. Their collection consists of 49 paint colors and 25 wallpaper designs all curated with the help of their top interior designers and color consultants.
Felix Capital was quoted to say, “When we met founders Lucas and Sam, it felt very clear that they were building much more than a paint brand. They are passionate about the opportunity to build Lick into a true home décor destination, not only by scaling into adjacent categories but also by leveraging their growing engaged community of individuals and professionals.”
